Bird of Prey Half Day Experience UK Wide

Falconry dates back hundreds of years with many of its techniques being passed from one falconer to another. This half day course gives you the opportunity to gain a brief insight into that knowledge as you interact with some of these magnificent birds and begin to learn how to fly them. These birds are not trained to do any tricks and simply mimic their natural instincts to hunt and find food. All the birds still show their natural desire to soar, quarter mantle and pounce.

Your experience will begin with an informative tour of the centre where you will see a variety of birds of prey close up and learn all about their different characteristics, speed capabilities and hunting habits. After that, you will get the chance to fly some of them to the fist under the watchful eye of the expert trainer. Finally there will be plenty of photo opportunities to capture a truly unforgettable experience. All equipment will be provided for your experience, but it is advisable to bring a pair of wellington boots with you and wear suitable outdoor clothing for the time of year! You will be at the venue for approximately 2 to 3 hours in total.

Your voucher will be valid for 10 months after purchase.  The number of other participants on the day will vary depending on the venue. The minimum age for this experience may differ from venue to venue but will vary between 10 and 16 years of age. The venue in Perthshire does not include a tour of the Centre you will instead be met by the falconer at a rendezvous point and then taken to see the Birds in their natural surroundings.  Please note that the species of bird flown will be dependent on the venue and time of year. The venue in Kent does not offer a tour but you are free to wander around the centre and see the birds of prey on display. The Cornwall venue allows a maximum of one spectator on this half day experience. Please note dogs are not permitted on site at some locations. All spectators will have to pay £35 at the North Yorkshire location.
