It has been formed by creating the spikes of thistle first and then the large green bubble is blown up with compressed air below. Green glass chips melted into thin wispy lines swirl around the thistle inside and then kingfisher glass is melted in behind the thistle and the piece shaped with a wet newspaper pad.
