I was very pleased with the engraved letter opener which I ordered for my brother-in-law's birthday. What to buy the man who has everything is always a problem. However I have given 4 stars and not 5 because of the engraving. It was very well done but in my opinion it was for a left handed person. If a right handed person set the letter opener down with the blade pointing to the right, as you would, then the engraving would either be upside down or back to front. A small point I know but nevertheless something to be considered. This could be rectified if the engraving began at the inner point between the handle and the blade. If this wouldn't cause a niggle for you then fine but it did niggle me.

This is the 2nd engraved letter opener I have ordered. Both were for special birthdays for ‘men with everything!’ As my previous review stated the only niggle I had was on the placing of the engraving. Most people are right handed but the engraving placement on my first order was such that when a right handed person ( majority) would use it and the set it down, the engraving would have been either upside down or back to front. This time I sent a message with my order asking for different placement if possible and I had an immediate response to say that the request had been passed on to the engraver. When the gift arrived it was absolutely perfect! Very happy!
