Experience Day Review Step back into the bygone era of rail travel as soon as you set foot in the ticket office at The Nene Valley Railway. A hop-on-hop-off ticket allows you to explore areas such as the Ferry Meadows Country Park. All the staff are volunteers and obviously love what they do and are therefore very friendly and informative. If you choose to take the afternoon tea on the same day, a fifteen-minute walk from Peterborough station takes you to The Bull Hotel, a 17th Century, Grade II listed building. The tea is a good stop off on your train journey, but I wouldn’t choose it for a special occasion. The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable and is highly recommended for a day out.”

    Good experience. Nice venue and good food selection. The parking was not great as the sat nav on the website was the postal address, not the car park one. We ended up paying for parking in a separate car park, so check with the hotel to get the correct postcode.

    Lovely morning, great place lots of trains. Disappointed not to go in a steam train but still an enjoyable experience. Highlight was seeing Thomas The Tank Engine and meeting Paddington! Definitely recommend.

    My friend and I went on this trip. It was a beautiful sunny day which added to the fun. Paddington Bear was visiting the station and young and old got their photos taken with him. Lovely day. We had booked into the Bull Hotel in Peterborough which provided us with our afternoon tea as part of our gift. We stayed at the hotel for one night. All the staff from the train ride and the hotel were lovely, friendly and professional. Thank you to them all.
