Our afternoon tea was excellent. The day was extremely hot. The upper floors were an unexpected treasure trove and very nice.pity one had to want to visit the toilets to know this was here.

A superb 'Old English' pub. An idealistic location for exploring Wallingford. And, for fans of Agatha Christie, only a short drive to pay respect at her final resting place. The service was great but the poor lady was severely overworked - taking orders, completing final prep in the kitchen, serving, and manning the reception. She needs an assistant. All in all, a highly recommended venue for a traditional afternoon tea.
