Many thanks to Steph and Phil for making it a memorable couple of days!

What did you get up to? We visited Farmers Boy Inn in Gloucester for a two-night getaway. My partner and I opted to go during the week, the hotel is dog friendly, but we did not bring the pooch! We arrived on the first night to a beautifully presented double room with a large area outside for all the guests to mingle around the rooms, we were in the Grandfather pie room, all the rooms are named different pies! After a great sleep, we had a lovely breakfast, pancakes fresh blueberries and a full English, we then explored the New Dean Forest nearby for you nature lovers out there this is an amazing location. We had dinner from a local takeaway while enjoying the free satellite TV in the room and we then enjoyed a late-night walk, far from the nearby towns and villages the stars in the sky are a sight to behold, then time for the second sleep in a big comfy bed. Overall, we had a great restful break away and would love to return! Many thanks to Steph and Phil for making it a memorable couple of days. What did you enjoy the most? Our favourite part of the experience was the aesthetics and night walk, the location is beautifully located away from the loudness of the city, the stars are beautiful and rarely an opportunity to see them as well as you do out there! It’s so quiet it’ll be the best night sleep you’ve ever had! The old building looks amazing and their seating area out the back of the bar is covered so you can sit in the rain and enjoy your pint without getting wet!

Top Tip

1. Explore options for food before you go – it is quite a wander from any nearby restaurants! 2. Sit in the back room, the jungle foliage creates a wonderful ambiance. 3. Come prepared for a walk as the forest nearby is well worth an investigation!

    spotless clean very comfortable. Lovely friendly hosts. There is a bar lounge but also an honestly bar which is very well stocked with drinks and snacks and reasonably priced. Nice peaceful location but within walking distance of seafront. Will definitely stay again.

    An absolute amazing place! Gina and Gareth are the most friendliest, sincere and hardworking hosts which guarantees you a warm welcome as they go above and beyond for each guest. The house and grounds were beautiful inside and out! The room we stayed in was pure luxury, down to every little detail given to make your stay more comfortable. It was the best nights sleep and we even asked for the recommendations on the mattress as it was that comfortable! Breakfast was another 5 star as everything was cooked to each individual need taken into account with no bother. The walk around the grounds was so relaxing and to then find the waterfall just completed a memorable getaway. Thank you xxx

    We enjoyed our stay and service and breakfast was very good. The afternoon we arrived there was live music in the grounds and it made for a very relaxing afternoon. There was lots to see and do in the surrounding areas. We will return at some point. Thanks.

    This was our first visit to Harwich and we were pleasantly surprised. Loved the history and thoroughly enjoyed walks and visits, eating out etc. Hotel was very friendly and food was good. Accommodation a little tired but new people working hard to make us welcome. Lovely crisp white sheets. Towels refreshed on our second day. Tea, coffee, bottled water etc in room. Our room was large, with sofa, TV very comfortable. Location great. Beer garden.

    Stayed at ivy house in Dolgelluau Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 the short break was supposed to be an overnight stay and steam train experience, the issue was that after we made the booking at the B&B there wasn’t a train experience in easy reach that was operational at the time, so we just paid for an extra night at the B&B and explored the area, the Ivy house B&B is popular with walkers and bike riders and I found the rooms comfortable although a bit tired but the breakfast was absolutely excellent, I could see parking being a problem although I was lucky I found a spot nearby. I suggest that these activity breaks are ok if the the overnight stays and the activity could be booked together because I found it difficult to find the train experience near the B&B which was actually operational
