My grandson and l had a great time at Crocs r Us, Filton, Bristol! However, if you’re imagining a tropically heated indoor tank full of docile young Alligators, think again! The tank was outside, the water was freezing cold, and only about 2 feet deep, so hardly deep enough to swim in! Having said that, the 2 Alligators, Tinkerbelle and Alli G, were both very docile and happy to be handled (probably too cold to be able to react quickly!) The young girl handler, Ruby, was very good and clearly very concerned for the crocs’ welfare. Afterwards, the tour inside, led by Maisie was excellent, although the whole place has a ramshackle, “heath Robinson” feel to it, which made me nervous about the possibility of one of the several deadly snakes escaping! We were also disappointed that the cafe next door, where we had to wait for half an hour before the start, had closed, even though this was only 3.45 pm. Also, a meal was supposed to be included in the voucher, so we couldn’t get this either. As for Activity Superstore: inefficient to say the least. We’d been trying to get booked in since late July, with AS asking us for dates, then coming back several days later to say these weren’t available. When we sent the last batch of dates, including 28th September, we received no confirmation, only a holding email, so in the end I had to email Croc r Us directly to check we’d actually been booked in. VERY unimpressed with AS service! Must do better!
