Our Steam Train Experience turned out to be a rail journey on a diesel-electric Intercity 125.... It was thoroughly enjoyable experience and we would definitely recommend.

Wonderful stay at the fabulous Sitwell Arms. Lovely large family room, spotlessly clean and nice bathroom with toiletries and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was a delight. So much choice on the continental with fresh fruit, yummy pastries and a great choice of cereal and the cooked breakfast was to die for. Plentiful tea, coffee and toast in a beautiful setting with period features. Communal rooms had beautiful comfortable and attractive furniture and all the staff were welcoming and warm . Our stay was a wonderful gift from our Son and his family and we will remember it always. Would have loved to stay longer. Part of the gift was a steam train ride which we also thoroughly enjoyed. Well done and Many thanksto The Sitwell Arms, The Wirksworth Railway staff and Activity superstore .A lady at the Activity Superstore was extremely helpful when there was a small glitch with our voucher. Thoroughly recommend the whole experience

A lovely quiet rural spot with excellent service, brilliant breakfast and friendly owners (and their friendly dogs). Village pub a short drive away serving very good food. Can't fault any of it.

No problems with the rail experience that al went smoothly. However the choice of hotels that could be used with the voucher that accompanied the voucher for the train experience was very poor. One was in Bournemouth, which is a long way from the East Somerset Railway and the other was a guest house that did not do an evening meal was was not within walking distance of anywhere that did, also the breakfast option was a 'hamper'. Contacting the 'Activity Superstore' was problematic to say the least. They did not respond to the first 3 e-mails, Calling the phone number we found on the internet took us to a recorded message that told us to use the 'chat' function on their web site. There was no chat function to be found on the web site. So the train was great but I will be avoiding the 'Activity Superstore' in the future.
