Steam Train and Afternoon Tea

Camelia Hotel is my go-to place for afternoon tea- they dont scrimp on the portions, we always go home with a box because we cant finish it all! The atmosphere inside is relaxing, I'd say it has a smart casual dress code, the staff are so friendly and accommodating, I cant praise them enough. There is free parking at the back, you enter from the seafront side. Oh, and the view of the Thames is just beautiful on a nice day!

We had a truly wonderful experience at the Nene Valley Steam Railway. We were lucky enough to go on the Thomas train, and our grandchildren were absolutely thrilled and excited from start to finish. We then travelled on a diesel train, which made the day even more special. The history throughout the railway was extremely impressive, and the preservation work is absolutely amazing. The knowledge and dedication of all the volunteers really stood out and added so much to the experience. Everyone was incredibly caring, friendly and helpful throughout the day, and nothing felt too much trouble. It was so much fun for all ages — our group ranged from 2 years old to 80 years old, and there was truly something for everyone. We especially loved the model steam trains, which added even more enjoyment to the day. The whole atmosphere was magical, welcoming and very well organised, creating such lovely family memories together. We would most definitely go back again and would truly recommend this experience to everyone.
