Experience Day Review Step back into the bygone era of rail travel as soon as you set foot in the ticket office at The Nene Valley Railway. A hop-on-hop-off ticket allows you to explore areas such as the Ferry Meadows Country Park. All the staff are volunteers and obviously love what they do and are therefore very friendly and informative. If you choose to take the afternoon tea on the same day, a fifteen-minute walk from Peterborough station takes you to The Bull Hotel, a 17th Century, Grade II listed building. The tea is a good stop off on your train journey, but I wouldn’t choose it for a special occasion. The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable and is highly recommended for a day out.”

    Our host,Andrew, was attentive to our visit throughout. Well presented beginning with a glass of bubbly followed by homemade scone and jam supported with Cornish clotted cream - a beautiful combination. well done,sir. Tea was excellent in testing overhead conditions but an overall excellent experience.

    We had a lovely trip on the Nene Valley Railway, a Christmas gift from family. Staff were lovely - friendly & helpful and knowledgable about the area. We travelled through lovely countryside to Peterborough, had an amble round the town & visited the cathedral, then our return trip. A most enjoyable day out.

    It was a little bit of a struggle on the day for us personally due to the heat. But That aside, it was an enjoyable day. It was a little hard to get to , but when we got to the first station which was wrong, a staff member guided us to where we needed to be. A little disappointed that there were no refreshments on the train and there wasn't that much to see on the journey, but it was still a good day and liked the shop and charity shop
