Lovely hotel, previously an old coaching inn, situated in the tiny village of Wykeham in North Yorkshire. The room we were originally allocated was not acceptable at all, being absolutely tiny and window onto main road, so noisy. Staff happy to reallocate us to a lovely, much larger room with double glazing which was perfect and so clean.Plenty of hot water for baths. Ate in restaurant, not particularly impressed by where we were sat ie in middle of room when unoccupied tables by window. Also the old brown wood tables were sticky with no mats or tablecloths. However food was beautiful, as was breakfast. Would definately recommend but choose your room carefully and ask for tables to be wiped down! Interesting wander round the little village, old railway line and station, ice house and church with separate bell tower all worth investigating!

Hotel was lovely. However didn't serve evening meals. Tuna and cucumber sandwich at lunch had no butter on bread and a scraping of tuna filling. Awfully poor.

Beautiful place to visit . Hotel room brilliant. Service from Zara was second to none, nothing too much trouble. Had such a good time we have booked our room for October 2023 for the week . Highly recommend.

This voucher was a Golden Wedding gift from our family and we were looking forward to the get away break at this hotel having being shielding for over two years. The initial voucher code did not work and with the help of the Activity colleagues I was given another code which finally allowed us to book the Lavender House Hotel which looked so ideal for our special break. However the hotel was an utter let down and totally spoilt our golden wedding anniversary treat:- While care has been taken with the gardens to make them an ideal location for wedding parties the same cannot be said for the hotel for normal travellers. The overall hotel is dated and needs an uplift, the heated towel rail was off in my room making the bathroom and towels cold with no way seen to turn it on. The menu description of the food I ordered did not match what I was served which contained items I was allergic to and would never have ordered due to the allergic consequences. When I complained I was asked if I would like something else but had to select something from memory as the menu was not offered. The alternative was dearer than the unsuitable wrongly described original but I was charge full price with no goodwill offered. Luckily I spotted the problem before I became ill.

We were greeted by the friendly staff in their bar/restaurant, we handed our voucher in and was taken to our en-suite room. The room was really clean and tidy, it had a large bathroom and they had shaped the towels on the bed into elephants which I thought was a lovely touch. We dropped our bags and went and explored the seaside town, got some delicious fish and chips and sat on the beach. The bed was extremely comfy, the room had tea and coffee making facilities, the hotel also has free Wi-Fi for guests to use. After a great night’s sleep we woke up early and went for breakfast, which was absolutely delicious, great quality food. If you get time, then go to the beach, its lovely!

This was a gift, so I've no idea how much it cost, but there were very few options and most of the destinations were unavailable or had extra conditions. Also needed to be booked weeks in advance. We ended up paying ££s to stay in a crummy B&b for two nights just so we could use it. Very disappointed and cross on behalf of the gift giver who wasted their limited cash on this treat.

Fantastic National Parks and Coastal Breaks B&B. Great location. Spotless room and one of the best breakfasts we have ever had. Highly recommended

just an ordinary bed and breakfast with no special features. very friendly landlady who served an excellent breakfast. I would not book this place by choice to pay £99
