Luxury Yacht Overnight Stay and Afternoon Tea on the Sunborn

Given as a gift for a special birthday. The hotel was amazing - it was luxurious, ultra comfortable and the location by the water was perfect. The room was spacious, with its own small balcony from which the O2 and Cable Car were seen. Afternoon tea was delicious - the only downside was that our waitress was very slow and also a bit forgetful as we had to ask several times for the accompanying beverage!

My son bought this for my birthday and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Cocktails and hot chocolate were a lovely extra touch to other afternoon teas I have had.

We had such a lovely stay. The staff were very attentive, and the afternoon tea and breakfast we had on the boat were delicious. Could not fault the service. Our room even had a little balcony which we were delighted about. Rooms could do with modernising but overall I would definitely recommend staying here.

What an outstanding location - views of Canary Wharf, the cable car over the River Thames and the O2. Plenty of the seats in the restaurant overlooked this view - at first we didn’t have this but asked to be moved, which was no trouble at all. Unexpected complimentary cocktail on arrival, and as much tea/coffee as you wanted for as long as you wanted. Option to sit on the bow of the boat with another coffee afterwards, which was a nice touch. If you book far enough in advance, you can book a room in the yacht’s hotel too for a reasonable price. My only criticism would be for two of the cakes - the red velvet was like a rubber ball and the brownie was just too rich.

My sister and I had tea on the yacht several weeks ago. The initial impression at reception was very good. It looked quite luxurious. The dining area, however, didn't match it and was rather ordinary. Service was very dubious. We were brought a drink each of our choice but then were given no more attention. After some time we eventually had to ask for our tea to be brought to us. The food was nice but not special. It is also unfortunate that the dining room windows do not have any blinds because the low sun was shining brightly into my eyes but there was nowhere else to move to. Overall it was an experience which we will not repeat.

This was our first time on the Sunborn, we were very happy with the food and service, unfortunately it was a hot day and our experience was not enjoyable as the venue was not air conditioned! This made for a very uncomfortable time and after just an hour had to leave. I’m not sure if I would recommend during the summer months.
