Gourmet Dining for Two

The venue was nice, the meal was well cooked with a variety of comfort food meals. We had 3 courses and both enjoyed the food. I booked 3 months in advance to ensure I could go on my birthday and the only time I was able to book was 5.30pm which was a bit early for me. The restaurant was almost empty so lacked atmosphere, I would have preferred the table at a later time when the restaurant was busier.

The dog and partridge is a very dowdy, tired looking hotel. The restaurant didn't appear to have any heating. To describe the meal as 'gourmet ' was really pushing it. It was a very mediocre, average meal. There was a strange area selling gifts of which most had a thick layer of dust. The restaurant was empty but they still didn't have time to put toilet rolls in the loo. Very disappointing.

The food was very nice and good service but the venue and meal cannot be called gourmet.

Wouldn't say it was gourmet food, roast dinner but with veg we assume also used in the Veggie lasagne. Pleasant staff but average food. H Was a gift but would urge you to review if worth the money.
