I am a burger-holic, especially homemade, fresh burgers and this was up there with the best I’ve had for sure!

What did you get up to? My friend and I visited the Chequers of Orwell in Cambridge for this tasty experience. On arrival, we were welcomed by the friendly staff, served a beer, and then ushered to our table. To quench our thirst, we both ordered a pint of Hell’s lager, brewed by Camden Town Brewery. My usual preference for an alcoholic beverage is a cider, however, I really enjoyed this fine lager. Our voucher didn’t entitle us to a starter; however, we ordered the Tempura King Prawns and they were absolutely delicious! After enjoying our heavenly starter, we were then served our burgers which were truly to die for. Served in a brioche bun, each ingredient was fresh and complimented each other well whilst melting in your mouth. Overall, this was a great experience, and I would recommend you all to try this fantastic experience. What did you enjoy the most? I am a burger-holic, especially homemade, fresh burgers and this was up there with the best I’ve had for sure!

The best bit of this whole experience was the attentive and friendly staff!

What did you get up to? We visited The Chequers of Orwell in Cambridgeshire to use our Gourmet Burger and Craft Beer for Two experience. Upon arrival we pulled up to a beautiful well-presented country pub. The cosy bar was furnished in a speak easy style with sofas and armchairs creating little pockets of space perfect for smaller parties. We sat down and ordered our drinks and food. We ordered an array of sides from their ample menu to create a sharing board starter and the vegetable samosas were so tasty! The Burgers were succulent and very filling, great value! We finished off our meal with a chocolate fondant, this was absolutely heavenly! For the quality of food and service I will definitely be returning. What did you enjoy the most? The best bit of this whole experience was the attentive and friendly staff. The team whilst professional were very friendly making us feel extremely comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome and were given the freedom to make use of all the space. We enjoyed a drink in the bar prior to dinner in the restaurant and then finished our drinks in the garden before departing.

Top Tip

1. Order the Chocolate Fondant for dessert, this was rich, decadent and definitely satisfying. 2. If the weather is warm be sure to sit next to the bifold doors in the restaurant! 3. Be sure to enjoy a drink in the bar prior to going through to the restaurant, make the most of that cosy atmosphere.
