Jean from Customer Service
The food was certainly the winner!
What did you get up to?
A friend and I visited the Blue Boar in Alcester as part of our Gourmet Dining experience. The place itself was set in a rural location and was a traditional pub with separate dining area, although we chose to eat in the bar. A great selection of options on the menu, with a value to spend on food only. The food was really tasty and we got really robust portions. Unfortunately, we were served the main meal before the starters, which wasn’t ideal but it was handled with good customer service and the problem rectified asap. Would certainly eat there again; not only was the food good but the atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly.
What did you enjoy the most?
The food was certainly the winner. I chose the Blue Boar Platter that had an abundance of meats and fish, along with salad and a gorgeous mini loaf of bread. I even loved the Chorizo which I always thought I hated. My friend opted for the Tempura Prawns and chips which looked amazing. She wouldn’t let me try them, unfortunately, but she said they were bang-on. The oldie worldy atmosphere was great, a really relaxed environment made the meal so enjoyable. Also, the toilets were beautiful; you can judge a lot by how the toilets are in an establishment.
Top Tip
1. I would recommend eating in the bar, really convivial
2. Try the Blue Boar platter; it was really generous in size and it was the small option
