I had a fantastic time driving both the Aston and Lamborghini. The two instructors I had, Nick (I think) and Tilly were brilliant. Very friendly, knowledgable and encouraging. Left with a very big smile on my face.

Received as a very thoughtful gift - sadly day was dominated by extras, demo lap £10, insurance £25 (the car was fitted with dual controls !!) etc etc - came away feeling a tad of a rip off !!

Given the track was so short and my experience only covered 2 laps I found I had to spend over double the original £65 cost to actually enjoy the experience. Became a bit of a rip off on a very average track truth be told

This event is badly organised, it is set out to make money rather than provide an enjoyable experiance. Initially it was almost impossible to book my Aston Martin car blast anywhere! Everytime I checked, it was sold out. Eventually got a session booked after a couple of months but had to have the time on the voucher extended. There were hundreds of people just waiting to have their name called out over a basic speaker, just to moved to another area in the pits. I had a session booked with a drive between 13:00 and 14:00, arrived at 12:30 as asked but didn't get in to the car until gone 15:30. I was talking to people who had arrived at 09:00 and still only driven 2/3 cars out the 4/5 they were going to drive with hour waits in between. The drive is self was good, but I choose Castle Combe as it is a proper fast race track, but they put up cones to limit some corners and shorten straights, so you don't get to really experiance what these cars can do; making this overall a poor experience. During the event although this didn't affect me, several cars weren't avaible and a few broke down during event, meaning other cars having long queues. In future I would prefer to buy one of Castle Combe racing school experiences as you get more tracktime and you get to use the full track.

Generally disappointed with the experience as the track is too small and there were too many cars on the track meaning you could not experience the full handling characteristics of your chosen car. The day was meant to be an Aston Martin blast however when I booked there were no Aston martins available to drive at the track so spent £25 to upgrade to a Ferrari 458. Now this was OK and was my choice to upgrade although a little annoying that when I got to the event there were 3 models of Aston Martins available of which I could of driven however I would of have to pay more to do this. The track itself was to small and tight for this many cars on track at once so you are limited to the speed of the person in front of you. After 2 laps of getting a feel for the car my 3rd lap was then just a coast behind a queue of cars and was only allowed to overtake at the final straight on lap 4 which was when I had to go back to the pits. The other issue was that it was meant to be for 3 miles and was given 4 laps….that’s 4 laps of a 700meter course (taken from the tracks website) so 4 laps is about 1.7 miles not 3 so it should be 7 laps in the car for this circuit not 4. The sighting lap was pointless and not worth the extra money as it was just 3 passengers in a BMW with the instructor although a very nice chap spends the 2 laps telling us how a car last week was crashed and how much it costs to replace the door handle of a Lamborghini and not actually telling us about the things I would of expect of a sighting lap such as where the apex of the corner is and where the braking points are. I got the feeling he was instructed to scare people into taking the damage waiver insurance. Event it self was organised OK as I got there 15 mins early to sign in for 8:30 and was back on my way home within the hour. In summary if you want cheap no frills tootle round a track in a car you can’t afford to tick it off a list then it’s ok as I drove my own car faster on the way to the venue than I could manage on the track. However if you want to do a proper driving experience then pick one of the bigger tracks or spend a bit more on a focused experience for a specific car.

Having been looking forward to this experience, which was a present from my 3 daughters, for a long time, I was so disappointed with it! I eventually got my turn after standing in the very cold wing for 2 hours waiting, the organisers forgot to arrange a lap familiarity trip, which I paid for as xetra, and the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, which I had booked, was not available and so I was given another car. The actual drive, which lasted approx 10-15 minutes, was fun! All in all, this is not an experience which I will be doing again, unfortunately!
