Once a practical way to put food on the table, falconry in Medieval Britain also graced grand occasions like pageants, weddings, and jousting tournaments. Today, seeing these majestic raptors in action is a truly unforgettable experience.

From the moment you arrive, a friendly expert falconer will welcome you and guide you through the history, disciplines, and care of these incredible birds, as well as the specialist equipment used in the sport. Then comes the highlight: you’ll get to fly two magnificent birds “to the fist”, feeling the sheer power and elegance of a raptor perched on your arm — an experience that’s equal parts exhilarating and awe-inspiring.

Throughout the session, you’ll be right in the action, learning fascinating insights about these extraordinary birds while under the watchful eye of your falconer. Each programme varies by location and the birds on display, so every visit is unique — and guaranteed to leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.

• This experience is available on selected weekday and weekend dates, throughout the year.
• Your falconry encounter will last approximately 1½ to 2 hours.
• There'll be a maximum of 19 other people in your group.
• You're welcome to bring spectators to watch at an extra cost.
• Restrictions vary depending on your chosen location, under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.
