In the summertime, when the palace isn't in full-on royal mode, you can step into the 19 dazzling State Rooms that usually host all sorts of fancy-shmancy ceremonies and royal gatherings. And let me tell you, these rooms are decked out like a treasure trove, showcasing some of the most majestic goodies from the Royal Collection. We're talking Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck – the art is off the charts! Plus, there's some super fancy porcelain, and English and French furniture that'll make you want to redecorate your whole place!

During your visit, you'll get to gaze in awe at the White Drawing Room with its jaw-dropping crystal chandelier, the Music Room where they roll out the red carpet for state visits, and the Throne Room, which even saw the "I do's" of The Prince and Princess of Wales. Talk about fancy wedding photos!

After soaking in all that regal splendor, why not take a leisurely stroll along The Mall to The Royal Horseguards Hotel. This place is as historic as they come, sitting right on the River Thames at the Embankment. It's actually made up of two iconic buildings – one that hosted legends like Churchill and Gladstone, and the other that used to house Britain's first secret intelligence chief! Inside, you'll find a perfect blend of Victorian grandeur and top-notch modern comfort, making it one of the swankiest spots near Westminster.

And, of course, there's the food! They've got a delectable menu, although keep in mind it might change depending on the season. We're talking lemon meringue pie, strawberry tart, chocolate eclairs, and even a gin and lime pebble for those feeling a bit adventurous. But that's not all – there are also sandwiches galore, scones with all the fixings, and a whole array of tea options that'll make your taste buds dance.

• The Palace will continue to open 5-days Thursday to Monday, entry times 13:15 & 15:30.
• The Royal Horseguards Afternoon Tea is served daily from 13.00 - 16.30.
• The State Rooms at Buckingham Palace will last 2 – 2 ½ hours and your Afternoon Tea around 1 hour.
• This experience is for two people, there will be others there on the day.
• Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
