The paperweight has a circular design with a flat bottom on which it stands and a flat face on top so that the pretty heart design can be clearly seen. The heart is made from sand using a heart shaped metal crimp, the sand is melted onto the end of the glass and pushed onto the crimp thereby creating a lovely 3D effect which can be seen through the side of the paperweight. Ruby coloured glass chips are then melted onto the back to give the lovely ruby frosted design behind the heart.
