About this experience
  • Availability: This experience is available on selected dates depending on location, generally between March to October (some venues are available throughout the year).
  • Duration: Your time at the vineyard will be about 1 to 2 hours.
  • Group Size: There'll be a maximum of 50 people in your group.
  • Minimum Age: To participate in this experience you must be at least 18 years old.
  • Fitness: You will need to have general fitness as there is some walking involved.
  • Spectator Information: Unfortunately, this experience is not suitable for spectators.
  • Weather Dependant: This activity is dependent on appropriate weather conditions.

What did the experience entail? I received the voucher for my Vineyard Tour and Tasting Experience for Two (Chiltern Valley Winery and Brewery, Henley-on Thames, Oxfordshire) and I have to say that my friend and I were not disappointed. We arrived to this quaint family owned vineyard based in the most serene surroundings and were blown away. It was a 2 hour experience which started off with a brief history of the place, followed by a tour of the vineyard, grape press, brewery and bottling area, and finished off with an hour of tasting 5 different wines, 3 ales and 4 liqueurs. We loved the fact that there were cheese and crackers with the tasting. Our favourite was the blood orange liqueur, as my friend said “it’s Christmas in a glass”.. At the end of the tasting we were given the option to purchase the wines, ales and liqueurs at a ‘tour’ price which was the icing on the cake for us. It is a great experience that we would highly recommend, and it’s something we are planning on doing again with our friends. What did you enjoy the most? Our favourite part of this was the tasting of their different products. We also loved the fact that it is family owned, you really feel the love they put into the place.

Top Tip

1. If you can make a booking to stay at the B&B on site, I would do it. It’s great to be able to enjoy the full tasting experience and not worry about having to drive. 2. Take advantage of the fact that they print personalised labels for the bottles. They’re happy to do one by itself or multiple. 3. Wear comfy footwear for the tour.

    Absolutely beautiful place, with wonderful staff and a fantastic place to stay. The gardens are gorgeous and peaceful, the rooms are cozy, and best of all, the wine tasting experience is incredible. Having completed a vineyard wine tasting experience in Italy this year, Chiltern Valley were far more superior with the quality of their several products, the quality of the tour and the education of each product. My cousin and I had a fabulous time. I also want to point out that the team went above and beyond with helping me alter my reservations several times due to health issues. I highly recommend and I look forward to returning next year. Btw, you can hire the house as whole or just a room! I’ll be back with friends. Thank you for a magical experience and absolutely delicious selection of goods, I spent far too much having loved so many of your drinks, hiccup 😍

    The wine tour and tasting was brilliant. Really enjoyed the talk about the estate's history. One of the red wines in particular was absolutely superb so we bought a case of it, and the selection of cheeses not only catered in part for my partner who has a cow's milk allergy, but they were all equally delicious. Thank you all, for a wonderful evening!

    Amazing little vineyard , tasting were plentiful and the cheese and crackers were very welcome although we had already enjoyed a charcuterie board at the food truck which was amazing !! We also booked a room and stayed over , overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience .

    Very disappointed that part of the package was missing! No free gifts (wine glasses, coasters etc) as part of the purchase. Contacted yourselves to ask about this and I’m still waiting on a response. This product is falsely advertised! Not a happy customer!
