Choose your preferred location from the list enclosed with your voucher, register with your chosen balloon operator and advise them of your weekday morning availability. The operator will then contact you when there is a promising weather forecast, and a morning flight is being arranged for your preferred day, to see if you are available. Call for a final weather check the evening prior to your morning flight to ensure the weather is suitable, and be sure to arrive in plenty of time for your flight. Your itinerary starts just after dawn at which time you will be invited to help prepare the balloon for flight with the rest of the guests. Flights last about an hour, the whole experience lasts around three and a half hours.
Your flight voucher is valid for 10 months. Flights take place on weekdays from March to October. You will be bound by the terms and conditions of the operator. The maximum weight is 18 stone. You must not fly if you are pregnant or under the influence of alcohol. You must obey all requests and instructions issued by the operator’s representative and take particular care to abide by any safety instructions given. The operator will not fly children under the age of 8. A child under the age of 16 will only be flown if accompanied by an adult. You must be 4 foot 6 inches or taller to participate in this experience. Flights are subject to weather conditions and sufficient passengers booked. If the operator is unable to fly on your first booked date your flight is moved forward to the next mutually convenient date. For these reasons we cannot guarantee flights on specific dates. Most importantly there must be wind speeds of less than 10 mph, reasonable visibility, a stable atmosphere and no rain or snow.
Old flat weatherproof shoes or walking boots and comfortable casual walking clothing suitable to the appropriate time of year are recommended as you will take off and land in a field. Ladies are advised to wear trousers. It is recommended that other garments should be made from natural as opposed to manmade fabrics.
